Promotional, audiotext and raffle lotteries are often supported by professionally produced loyalty schemes. But why are they so popular, who can take part in them, and exactly who are they aimed at?

Who can take part in the lottery?

Only natural persons aged 13 or over may take part in raffle and promotional lotteries. This is in accordance with Article 27(2) of the Gambling Act and the Civil Code concerning the acquisition of legal capacity. Different rules apply to the organisation of audiotext lotteries, in which only adults may take part.

Various types of lotteries are referred to as games of chance, in which cash or non-cash prizes can be won. They are based on the fact that the final result is determined by chance. They are popular because they give participants the chance to win a prize, whilst for the organiser they are a way of boosting sales. This means that both sides benefit from them.
